The role of Art in the Garden and Foundation: Art is a central part of Sam's life, as is evident in his work and throughout the house and gardens. This site holds many enjoyable pieces of art and is also host to several events for artists and craft persons.

Maintenance and Irrigation: Many folks are overwhelmed by where to start in a native or Mediterranean garden. We share our experiences and lessons learned.

Climate: There are 5 Mediterranean climates in the world, comprising about 2% of the earth’s landmass. The largest is the Mediterranean itself, about 60% of the world’s Mediterranean climate, followed by South and Western Australia, which equal about 22%. The remaining three are California (10%), Chile (5%) and South Africa (3%). Beverly uses a familiar principle of Mediterranean gardening by placing plants that require more water into pots.
