Led by artist and museum professional Kirk Delman, this workshop will introduce participants to the joy of found objects intertwined with the beauty of wood.  Marrying eccentric and diverse materials can open-up the mind and ignite the imagination.

During this two-day workshop all participants will complete a unique sculptural side table. This workshop is open to participants 18+ with woodworking experience ranging from novice to advanced.  It will be an opportunity to look beyond one’s expectations on what may be considered sacred. The course encompasses work with a table saw, band saw, jointer/planer, router, sanders, grinders and a range of essential hand tools, materials and finishing products.

All participants are encouraged to bring with them 3 or more found or recycled objects. Be prepared to incorporate them into your work. Tuition includes wood and materials. Drinks and snacks are also provided, but please pack a lunch for each day’s 1-hour mid-day meal break, to be enjoyed in The Maloof’s olive tree-shaded courtyard, weather permitting. A truly unforgettable way to learn.

Participants must be 18 years or older.
