E'kwa'shem Mu chemkal Towük Hiüvaniyüsn: We Are Still Here presents the work of six contemporary California Indian artists whose art reflects the resilience and vitality of Indigenous communities. Featuring Samantha Johnson (Gabrieleño Tongva), L. Frank Manriquez (Tongva, Ajachmem, Rarámuri), River Garza (Tongva), Weshoyot Alvitre (Tongva, Scottish), Gerald Clarke, Jr. (Cahuilla), and Cara Romero (Chemehuevi), this exhibition in the Jacobs Education Center Gallery honors the diverse cultural heritage of California’s Indigenous peoples.

Through a variety of media, the artists explore themes of identity, history, and community, reminding us that they are still here and thriving through their creative expressions.
