Contour Drawing: See Differently, Draw Boldly

with Aleta Jacobson

No experience necessary

Join us for an immersive workshop focused on the art of contour drawing. This foundational technique involves drawing an object’s outline in one continuous line, encouraging close observation and expressive mark-making. It encourages artists to slow down, observe closely, and draw with intention.

Participants will learn how to capture the essential form of a subject through careful line work, looking up only to place internal details like an eye or a fold. Contour drawing is widely recognized by art schools and institutions as a powerful training method, helping artists develop hand-eye coordination, focus, and creative interpretation.

Perfect for beginners or anyone looking to deepen their drawing practice, this workshop offers a supportive space to explore how a single line can communicate energy, movement, and visual delight. With Aleta’s expert guidance, you’ll discover the joy of drawing with intention and freedom.
