Class Description
Discover a fun and accessible approach to printmaking using foam blocks! This workshop introduces a faster and easier alternative to traditional linocut or woodcut techniques, using affordable materials perfect for beginners and experienced artists alike. You’ll learn how to design your image, carve it into foam, and create unique prints with ease. Participants are encouraged to bring a pre-made design sized to fit 11 x 8 inch paper.
Instructor Bio
Cesar Garcia is a Oaxacan printmaker based in San Bernardino who specializes in techniques such as xylography, pyrography, stencil, and airbrushing. In 2022, he co-founded Grafica Nocturna, a collective dedicated to promoting and preserving traditional printmaking practices through collaborative art.
His work has been featured in exhibitions at the Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Art, Angels Gate Cultural Center, and the Ontario Art Museum.
