In fall 2001, the years-long project to move and relocate Sam and Alfreda Maloof’s historic home to make way for the 210 freeway was finally completed. In this exhibition we tell the story of this nearly impossible feat which was made possible by the determination of the Maloofs, historic preservationists, elected officials,  community stakeholders,  architects and engineers. Learn how historical preservation happens, and how special character-defining places are preserved for generations to come.
