No experience necessary

Join us for a hands-on jewelry workshop and discover a fresh, creative way to showcase beads and semi precious stones in a one of a kind Boho Chic necklace.

In this class, you will learn a simple crochet stitch that becomes the foundation for your necklace chain. As you work, you will incorporate glass beads and semi precious stones directly into the links, creating a richly textured piece with your own personal style. You will also have the option to add charms, either woven into the design or attached later with jump rings for extra flair.

A curated selection of pre assembled bead kits will be available in a variety of color combinations, allowing you to choose the palette that inspires you most. Each kit includes enough materials to create a versatile single strand necklace that can also be worn doubled for a layered look. All materials are included, including thread, glass beads, semi precious stones, and clasp components.

This workshop is also a wonderful opportunity to put leftover beads from your own collection to use, if you would like to bring them along. With so many possible combinations of color, texture, and accents, each finished necklace will be uniquely yours.

All tools will be provided for use during class.

Please bring a sack lunch.

Artists Biography

Despina “Espie” Buoncristiani is a lifelong artist. Her interest in jewelry emerged in her teens as she reimagined vintage pieces, and a college drawing class followed by a graphic design course led her to switch her major to Art. After working in several studios, she founded Espie Graphics in 1984, running it as a one-woman design practice. As graphic design shifted toward the digital, she longed for more tactile work, which led her to jewelry making, first with beaded designs and later with her own metal pendants in silver, copper, and brass. Continuing to expand her skills, she trained extensively in Metal Clay, earning two certifications and becoming a Senior Certified Art Clay Silver Instructor. Since 2015 she has taught more than 1,000 students across Metal Clay, Metalsmithing, Enameling, Etching, and other techniques, finding deep joy in helping others explore their creativity.
