Curious about henna? Ever wonder about the intricate, lace-like designs that adorn hands and arms? Join us for an engaging introduction to this beautiful folk art tradition that has been used to celebrate, bless, and beautify for thousands of years.

In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn the foundations of working with natural henna. The morning session will cover henna powder selection, the importance of freshness and proper storage, how to roll and prepare your own cones, mixing and straining henna paste, and filling cones for application.

After a lunch break, we’ll put those skills into practice by learning basic henna application techniques, including line work, simple motifs, and design fundamentals. We’ll also discuss proper pre-care and after-care, along with best practices for achieving beautiful, long-lasting results.

Participants are welcome to bring a friend after lunch to serve as a practice model, providing an opportunity to experience applying henna designs on another person. Friends are encouraged but not required, and participants may also practice using the techniques demonstrated during class.

No prior experience is necessary. All materials are provided. This workshop is perfect for anyone interested in learning the traditional techniques, cultural heritage, and creative possibilities of henna art.

Please bring a sack lunch.
