Join fiber artist Charlotte McKenzie for a hands-on introduction to wet felting over a resist. Wet felting is an ancient fiber art that transforms loose wool fibers into fabric using water, soap, and friction. In this workshop, Charlotte will guide you through this time-honored process as you create your own decorative felted vessel.
You will learn how wool fibers migrate, bond, and take shape around a plastic resist while exploring color, texture, and composition. Along the way, Charlotte will demonstrate each step and help you develop an understanding of the techniques that make wet felting work.
By the end of the workshop, you will leave with a one-of-a-kind felted vessel to display in your home, along with new skills and the confidence to continue exploring wet felting on your own.
All materials are included. No experience necessary.

Instructors Bio
Charlotte McKenzie is a self-taught fiber artist from Riverside, California. Like many people, Charlotte did not initially think of herself as an artist. Creativity was simply something she enjoyed—teaching art lessons as a room mom or making things while waiting for her boys at practices. Her day job is as a Realtor with The Ransom-McKenzie Team, where she describes her work as selling “artistic living” in Riverside.
When Charlotte discovered the world of wool and textiles, her creative life took a new direction. What began as a knitting hobby grew into a passion for felting. Through her participation in the 52 Project at the Riverside Art Museum, she came to see art as something not limited to museums, but as a form of creative expression open to everyone.
Charlotte brings a practical, playful, and color-focused approach to her work and teaching. Her felted creations include scarves, vessels, and wall hangings, often featuring vibrant color, texture, and a strong sense of personal expression.
