Immerse yourself in the bold and expressive world of American master Milford Zornes. A leader of the California Scene painters and a key figure in the American watercolor movement, Zornes was known for his dramatic compositions, vibrant washes, and striking use of negative space.

In this hands-on class, you’ll explore Zornes’ unique style through guided instruction, demonstrations, and your own creative exploration. Learn to:

●      Simplify complex scenes into strong, graphic compositions

●      Use bold, transparent washes to create depth and light

●      Emphasize structure and design over fine detail

●      Work confidently with limited color palettes

●      Paint landscapes and architecture in Zornes’ iconic style

We’ll also reflect on Zornes’ legacy as a teacher who inspired clarity, confidence, and courage in his students. Open to all skill levels, this workshop offers a rich opportunity to grow your watercolor practice and connect with a uniquely American artistic tradition.

Step into Zornes’ world and let your brush reflect his fearless vision.
