for a Calligraphy Workshop

This calligraphy workshop is for all levels (beginner, intermediate and advanced). You will learn the technique of holding the pen, making pen strokes and creating letters. Once you have learned the basics, you will begin to write in the style of Sam Maloof. This will be an interactive workshop with tips and tricks to enhance and refine your calligraphy.
This workshop is from 10:00am to 3:00pm.
The workshop is made up of two 2-hour sessions with a 1 hour lunch break.
(Lunch is not provided, please bring your own lunch).
Ages: 14 and up
Minimum: 5 students
Maximum: 15 students

About the instructor:

The workshop will be led by Dave Mark.
Dave is a member of the Society for Calligraphy.
He has taught an after-school calligraphy program at different high schools in the area for 6 years.
Tuition includes all materials.
Water will be provided.
Please pack a lunch for the 1-hour mid-day meal break, to be enjoyed in The Maloof’s olive tree-shaded courtyard, weather permitting.

The Sam and Alfreda Maloof Foundation for Arts and Crafts is a member of the Historic Artists' Homes and Studios program (HAHS) of the National Trust for Preservation. HAHS is a coalition of 30 museums that were homes and working studios of American artists. Come, witness creativity!
Maloof Service Animal Policy
The Maloof welcomes all visitors, including those assisted by a service animal. Visitors with a registered service animal are permitted in all publicly accessible areas.
In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), The Maloof recognizes only dogs as Service Animals. These animals are specifically trained to do work or perform tasks for a person with a disability. Guests who use service animals must retain control of their animal at all times, and are required to keep them on a leash or harness while visiting.
Emotional support animals are not recognized as service animals under the ADA; we apologize for the inconvenience, however, The Maloof is unable to accommodate them.
